A Man of Many Words...
Born and raised in NYC, I am a lifelong fan of the Yankees, Knicks and Jets. Now residing in Austin, Texas, I am trying to get accustomed to local teams enough for me to pretend to be a fan (at least when Texans are in the stands).
But let's get down to business...
To me, writing comes as easily as breathing. Even so, I continue to be in awe of how thoughts we have can be brought to life through the written word. Yet, choosing the right combination of words to communicate those thoughts is where the magic comes in. The miracle of the journey from brain to keyboard to reality is unique to our species.
My Dad would never tell me the definition of a word. Instead, he would say, "Let's go look it up!" We would then walk together to a giant, 3000+ page Funk and Wagnall's dictionary that rested open, on a special wooden stand. He'd make me find the word and then we'd discuss the definition. As a kid, it seemed laborious. But as an adult, I feel I owe him a lifetime of gratitude for my vocabulary, articulate nature and perpetual curiosity. Thanks, Dad. It has served me well.
In addition to my eclectic writing experience, I am a passionate and dynamic entrepreneur, creative visionary, and business development leader with nearly three decades of experience spanning theatrical marketing, Fortune 500 media production, cybersecurity content strategy, and social impact programming for seniors.
I thrive on bringing projects to life. Few things give me more joy than seeing my ideas become tangible. Furthermore, I enjoy the collaboration of communicating the ideas of others to present them in the best possible way to capture the attention of a specific audience. Whether I am working on dry, technical content or comedic scripts - the payoff for me is seeing the fruits of what I've crafted, knowing that I can deliver something unique and often wonderful, every time.
I do not ever suffer from "writer's block." As I said above, writing is like breathing to me. I cannot stop it anymore than I can hold my breath indefinitely.
But, when in doubt, I put on The Grateful Dead.
